EPCs
EPCs became mandatory for rented property on the 1st Oct 2008. Unlike gas safety checks an EPC Can last up to ten years.
Our EPC’s Include a professional floor plan of your property giving our landlords an advantage when marketing their property.

Tax
When a landlord is living abroad it is your responsibility to appoint a suitably qualified person i.e., accountant, solicitor to act on your behalf for taxation matters. If this is not arranged by yourself then Jarvis Properties as your agents are required to do so under Uk Taxes and Management Act 1990 Section 78 to deduct income tax (currently 20%) at the basic rate from gross rent received less deductable expenses.
However its not all doom and gloom you should note that there are some expenses that are tax deductable such as agent, management fee’s, minor repairs and maintenance.
